Like many, I have been watching the Netflix series The Queen’s Gambit, and it got me to think about the status of chess today. I remember in 1997 when IBM's chess computer Big Blue beat reigning world chess champion, Garry Kasparov. Are humans really playing chess anymore? Turns out, chess is alive and well, and it's even thriving today.
