TAMU-Kingsville wins $2.4 million grant to promote diversity in engineering

The National Science Foundation awarded a grant of almost $2.4 million to Texas A&M University-Kingsville to promote diversity in the engineering field. The funding comes from the foundation’s Improving Undergraduate STEM Education: Hispanic-Serving Institutions program. Data from the foundation shows that Latinos held 6 percent of science and engineering jobs in 2015, though they make up more than 18 percent of the population.
